Vieira Baptista Born in Lisbon in 1954. Luís Vieira-Baptista competed at ESBAL in 1972, but for military reasons he changed the course of architecture through the nautical officer of the Merchant Navy. Later, he attended the drawing course with a live model at the National Society of Fine Arts in Lisbon.

Under the guidance of Quintino Sebastião, having participated in the first collective in 1972 and 1975 individually in the Estoril Casino Gallery. In the 1980s he moved to Switzerland (Zurich), giving him exhibitions in other European countries, Canada (Toronto) and the United States (New York), which led him to create a name for his style of painting: Visionism. Luís Vieira-Baptista was honored in 2003 with the gold medal of Municipal Merit, by the Municipality of Oeiras, for the cultural services rendered to the Municipality and to the country, following the implementation of the monument of his author «The door of the Sea» – Nave Visionista, on the beach of Santo Amaro de Oeiras.
